interview with Duarte Pombo

Duarte is a 20 years old skater from Carcavelos ,Portugal with some amazing skills and so many massive tricks . I think that it’s enough if i say that he skates handrails like flat rails …Here is the interview with Duarte , enjoy reading 🙂

How long have you been skateboarding?
For about 9 years

What made you start?
When i was little, like 7 or something, i saw some dude on the tv doing a crazy flip trick and i got completely mindblown by it, from that day forward i wanted to try to skate.. then when i was 12, skateboarding began to be a popular sport because of a tv show. I asked a friend if i can try it and i loved it, asked my dad for a skateboard and we went to sportzone to get one. My dad bought a skate for me and a scooter for my sister.. since then i never stopped skating.

Who is your favorite skater?
Don’t have a favorite skater, but the ones that inspire me the most are my friend Ruben Rodrigues, David Gonzalez, Nyjah, Nick merlino, Trevor Colden.. and tons more that i love to watch skate.. Westgate

About the new fallen portuguese commercial that came out a few days ago, where it was filmed and in how much time?
it was filmed in Lisbon and in about 3 days.. I’m currently trying to do 2 videoparts at the same time, so we used the leftovers to do that little commercial.

Favorite spot in Portugal?
it’s got to be the Millenium Rails in Lisbon they are so perfect and fun to skate.

Plans for the next months? Are you filming fom something new?
I’m going to Barcelona for my first time in 3 weeks, for like a month. so stoked !! I’m going there to film for my 2 videoparts and to have fun and meet new people.

Which trick can be defined as your signature trick?
Probably kickflip front board or hardflip. damn i love those tricks

flip front board, hardflip, front crooked

How and how much do you train during the week?
I have finished 12th grade and cancelled college to skate every day. So , currently i skate every day from like 9 AM to 6:30 PM when there is no sun left. I would really love to live my life as a professional skateboarder.. really love skateboarding and hope that i can keep doing it as much as i am doing now, all my life

Best memories from the 2013?
Soo many! Probably when i was with all the Element Pro team in Paris street skating, seeing Nyjah doing that 20 stair crooked grind on the McCrank Rail right in front of my eyes was so mind blowing! so sick!! He did it so fearless, like it was nothing.
